Care Afloat have a number of small community homes, which are no
different from other houses in the area. We do not simply aim to fill
beds regardless of the need of the young people, and will not place a
young person in a home if it is not in the best interests of the young
person already living there.
We are firmly committed to quality, not quantity of placements.
It is for this reason that some houses will at times have only 1 young person
placed in them, even if they are registered for 2-3 young people. Where houses
are shared, young people must always have their own bedroom. Our matching criteria ensures that we avoid inappropirate mixes of young people. Special
arrangements can also be made for siblings, if appropriate.
Access to Health Assessment & Therapy through CCATS Health Team is available to
young person in any
of our homes.
Our three-bedded home is all on one level and can cater for young people and staff with limited mobility. All young people will access our health assessment and therapy facility. Emergency bed also available.
